Produced in 1962 by David Adams, PULSE OF LIFE was the first motion picture to bring the lifesaving techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the lay public. Creative and dramatic, PULSE OF LIFE set the standard for quality early in the history of CPR training. Produced with renowned cardiologist, Archer S. Gordon MD, PhD and with special acknowledgements of the work of Allen B. Dobkin, M.D.; James O. Elam, M.D.; James R. Jude, M.D.; and Peter Safar, M.D., -- collectively known as the fathers of CPR. PULSE OF LIFE was also the first film to use "ABCs of CPR" in a course of instruction in resuscitation technique.
