A sensitive short story that focuses on two teenagers with Down syndrome who wanted to have a meaningful relationship. During a chance encounter, Ricky, a young farm boy, and Lila, a girl enrolled in a nearby special program, are mutually attracted to one another. Their friendship deepens during a community picnic, but the two young people are soon separated by circumstances and the well-meaning plans of their adult guardians.
